Rivian South Coast Theater
In Fall of 2023, Rivian renovated an abandoned movie theater in the heart of Laguna Beach, CA. They reached out to me to paint two murals for the new space. This location will become a community hub featuring weekly movie showings, workshops, and gatherings.

Murals
The two murals were painted on custom canvases and mounted on to the walls of the arched niches in the theater. The landscapes are nods to the original murals painted by Edgar Payne when the building was first built. Each canvas is just under12’x8’.

Rivian asked me to also paint on the walls of the bathrooms. The paintings were based on the initial sketches for the two murals in the main theater room. They aimed to weave a cohesive story throughout the building by highlighting these bespoke details.
